Tradition subsumes innovation, and keeps flowing… Adviteeya, an audio album project, released by HMV, has been Kuldeep’s unique Carnatic classical effort at blending innovation and tradition in reverential ways. With an accompaniment team comprising of none but himself, Kuldeep has showcased the vastness of his talents and dedication even at this very young age. Kuldeep’s deep, trained voice is accompanied by his own trained expertise in playing seven different instruments – Violin, Mridangam, Ghatam, Ganjira, Tabla, Harmonium and Melodica, but with no compromise to the richness of classicism. The recording is in the traditional Kutcheri format with the necessary components like raga alapana (rendered in violin as well) and thani avartana. Special mention has to be made of the ambience created by Vaishnava Janato and how Kuldeep puts to the best use Melodica’s uncanny resemblance to Magudi.
